What
is Medical Qigong:
What is Medical Qigong?
Widely
understood in China but little known in the West, medical qigong is
a modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Medical qigong is
a way of affecting and directing qi, or the life force, for medical
benefit. Rather than using needles, herbs or massage, medical qigong
relies on the ability to direct qi with the mind, the hands or a
ritual object but without the necessity of touching the body. Like
its better known counterparts, acupuncture, Reiki, Quantum-Touch and
herbal medicine, medical qigong requires thorough knowledge of TCM
scientific theory. To develop skill with medical qigong, a
practitioner needs to be highly disciplined with a very focused mind
similar to that of a well-seasoned meditation expert. To practice
medicine as subtle as medical qigong, a practitioner must have
unusual abilities of subtle perception. Ideally, a medical qigong
practitioner should also be a Medical Intuitive in order to make the
most accurate diagnosis and treatment. Any practitioner's treatment
is only as good as his or her diagnosis.
At the Sentient Temple, we teach Shamanic Multidimensional Mind
which trains one to become a Medical Intuitive. It is from this
foundation that we teach Medical Qigong.
In the perspective of Eastern philosophy, medical qigong is
generally explained through a three dimensional convergence. Seeing
a physical body as an energetic hologram and observing the physical,
mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual aspects of the tissues.
By stimulating any one of these five matrices, you affect the other
four and influence the body to initiate either health or disease.
Diagnosis and treatment is, therefore, approached in a nonlinear
progression working towards the health and healing of the WHOLE
person.
An analogy may help to clarify this. A Qigong Practitioner has a
client who comes to him traveling 300 miles one way every week.
Western Medical doctors gave him two months to live. He is in the
Air Force and because his doctors were so certain he was gong to
die, the Air Force magnanimously paid him his two hundred thousand
dollar life insurance policy. Here is something he did not share
with his MD’s. He was born in Russia not far from Chernobyl. At two
years of age, he was playing in the snow when the nuclear power
plant exploded. He now was told he has a tumor in his abdomen the
size of a 12 pound pumpkin. His mother found the Qigong Practitioner
and brought him to him January 1st.
We are now in April and he is in remission. Qigong looked at him
in all dimensions; he treated him emotionally, mentally, internally
and physically. Now, his 12 pound tumor is the size of a lemon, less
than a pound. He accepts the presence of the Universal Life Force
and the Power of the Source. He arrives in pain and leaves without
it. That is the bottom line. That’s the power of Medical Qigong.
The Western mind is taught to view the physical body in a linear
progression of cause and affect. Traditional medicine separates the
reactions of the tissues from the effect of the mind and emotions
and from the universal and environmental influences.
More than 5000 years ago, Chinese physicians came to understand
that everything is composed of the same energetic substance called "Qi" (Chee).
These ancient masters concluded that there is a oneness and a
wholeness in all existence and that energetically everything is
interconnected as one body although energy may take on many
different forms. All things in nature and in fact, all things in the
universe are woven together so that we are, quite literally, all
symbiotically one with the universe, one thought, the system of Qi.
Qi is always in motion within all things and is the catalyst for
everything to interrelate within the universe.
In modern times, the laws of physics have demonstrated that
matter and energy are interchangeable and that matter is simply
another form of energy. Matter is constantly vibrating in the form
of tangible, altering gases, being affected by or interacting with
energy. Energy is inherent in the living human body and the human
body is sustained by energy.
The ancients mastered techniques to balance the bodies energy Qi
in order to live in harmony with the environmental (earth) Qi and
the universal (heavenly) Qi. Traditional Chinese Medicine maintains
that when living things begin to lose their Qi, they lose their
vitality. The Ancient Chinese believed that "Life comes into
beginning because Qi is amassed; when Qi is scattered, the person
dies."
We work with the Qi pools that each of us hold. We connect those
pools with the Source and the Universal Life Force. The ancient
masters observed that Qi can be divided into five manifestations of
matter: energy: mineral, plant, animal, human, and divine. Each form
draws on the energy of the next, resonating and interacting with the
divine through the form's relationship in Wuji (infinite space).
When we bring your vibratory Life Force up to what is required to
heal, send cancer into remission, turn fibromyalgia around, stop
lupus, control diabetes, end chronic pain, we are Qigong Medical
Practitioners.
